Mountain Heritage Day

The annual Mountain Heritage Day festival is held on the campus of Western Carolina University. Mountain Heritage Day is a unique event of free, family-oriented daylong activities that celebrate Southern Appalachian music, arts, dance and culture. It is the grand-daddy of such festivals, drawing more than 15,000 guests. The event has been named as one of the Top 20 festivals by the Southeast Tourism Society.
