Instructor, Steve James leads this hands-on session will be devoted to a couple of the old three-chord, six-note guitar pieces that are the cornerstone for all blues (and country) guitar styles that followed. Beginners with some basic chord knowledge and more experienced players would like to add a little bounce and a few blue notes are welcome. Some basic chord knowledge is helpful.
*We require all individuals over the age of two to wear appropriate masks in the classroom while participating in a workshop or event.

Blues and Folk Songs from North Carolina
The grassroots musical history of the state is peopled by icons as diverse as Charlie Poole, Etta Baker, Bascom Lamar Lunsford and Tar Heel Slim. Steve will perform a song from and tell a story about each of these down-home legends. The presentation will be followed by questions from the audience.
