White Horse Live is a streaming concert series. Upcoming Bluegrass / Old-Time / Blues bands include:
- January 21 – John Ford (acoustic blues), 8:00 pm, $12.00 & $15.00. John Ford is a traveling blues singer songwriter from Cincinnati, and regularly performs in places like St. Louis, Mobile, Alabama and Clarksdale, Mississippi. He has shared the stage with the likes of Cedric Burnside and Ruthie Foster. In 2012 he recorded in Room 414 of the Gunter Hotel, in San Antonio, Texas — the same room where Robert Johnson recorded such epic songs as “Sweet Home Chicago” and “Crossroad Blues”, back in 1936. It’s pre-war blues, country blues…..downhome blues and the STORY behind the music.
- January 23 – The Foreign Landers (old-time), 7:30 pm, $12.00 & $15.00. The Foreign Landers is a duo hailing from opposite sides of the Atlantic united by their love of bluegrass and traditional folk music and their love for each other. Together they combine the musical styles of their respective homelands, along with their instrumental prowess and haunting vocals to create something new.
- January 29 – Jesse Daniel Edwards (blues), 8:00 pm, $15.00 & $18.00. Jesse Daniel Edwards is an award-winning songwriter and charting artist hailing from the small mountain town of Cuyamaca, CA. As a child, Jesse and his 6 siblings grew up without television and significant exposure to the outside world. He spent his time learning to sing harmony to gospel tracks and tinkering on hand-me-down instruments with his grandfather. Leaving home at 16, he spent his teen years busking on street corners around the US and abroad. After forming a relationship from a chance encounter with John Prine’s manager in Nashville, Jesse grew to perform on the festival and university circuits full-time. He released 3 albums in the years to follow, going on to tour with Morrissey and Lucinda Williams amongst others. His characteristically alternative sound is informed by clever lyrics and a signature vocal delivery. His catalog has been featured in radio, TV, streaming movies, video games, and 3 independent films.
