Appalachian cloggersThe Blue Ridge Music Trails wind through 29 counties in the mountains and foothills of Western North Carolina. From small town venues to street fairs and outdoor festivals, this region offers group travelers the opportunity to experience living music traditions passed down and enjoyed by generations–bluegrass, old-time music, ballad singing, gospel, clogging and flatfoot dancing, and instrument building.

Receptive Services

Blue Ridge National Heritage Area Receptive Services offers support to group leaders, tour planners, motorcoach operators, and other receptive service providers bringing groups into Western North Carolina. Our staff will be happy to assist in a variety of ways:

  • Guide service

Who We Are

The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area encompasses the 25 western-most counties in North Carolina. The region was honored with this Congressional designation in recognition of its unique character, culture, and natural beauty, and its contributions to the history of the United States.

The Blue Ridge National Heritage Area Partnership is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that carries out the work of preservation, interpretation, and promotion of heritage assets throughout the region.

Blue Ridge National Heritage Area Receptive Services is an earned-income activity that supports the work of the Heritage Area by offering visitors authentic natural and cultural experiences in the region.
