Tommy Jarrell Festival

The Round Peak region of Surry county is well-known for its rich history of old-time music.  Tommy Jarrell, who played old-time fiddle, was raised in the Round Peak community.  To celebrate his life and music, the Tommy Jarrell Festival was created in 2002 and includes plenty of dances, concerts, workshops and a youth competition. The event now occurs annually in the Old-Time Music Heritage Hall at the Earle Theatre in downtown Mt. Airy.
