- Event: Historic Happy Valley Old-Time Fiddler’s Convention
Labor Day weekend each year visitors pay homage to the legends and stories of the Yadkin River Valley at the Historic Happy Valley Old-time Fiddlers' Convention. The Historic Happy Valley Old-Time Fiddlers' Convention is a nonprofit, community-driven event designed to preserve and promote the cultural-heritage resources of Happy and Yadkin Valley through an annual music festival that highlights traditional old-time and bluegrass music and rural traditions, doing so in such a way that provides wholesome family activities and protects our farmland and community values while promoting trust between the community and the event. All proceeds are reinvested into convention and the community.

Evening Final Competition
After Saturday night's finals, the Band "Down the Hall" will provide music and will lead some simple Appalachian folk dances.

Friday is a free event. Saturday & Sunday $10 admission, children under 16 years are free.
Event is held in a open field, with tents. Large groups can be accommodated, but be aware that conditions can turn muddy if it rains, making for difficult driving in the field. Dancers are welcome, and and there is a space for dancing just outside the main tent. There will be a dance inside the tent on Friday night. Several food vendors will be there, with fare such as BBQ, tomato sandwiches, shaved ice, coffee, sodas, water, chips, hot dogs, hamburgers, desserts, etc. Various jam sessions occur on the grounds throughout the weekend and jams welcome newcomers at allplaying levels and there is an Open Mic night on Friday.
