Ebbs Chapel 2018 Summer Series

The Madison County Arts Council announces their summer concert series, “Sunday Set-Ins at Ebbs Chapel.”  The summer series will be staged on the fourth Sundays of June, July and August.

“Ebbs Chapel is a beautifully restored rock school built in 1938 by the Civilian Conservation Corp at the end of the depression,” stated Laura Boosinger, Director of the Madison County Arts Council. The series begins on Sunday,

  • June 24 -  Josh Goforth, $15.00 advance, $20.00 at door
  • Madison County native, a Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist and producer, and now a favorite at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN.
  • July 22 - Tony McManus , $20.00 advance, $25.00 at door
  • Self-taught from childhood, initially through listening to the family record collection, McManus abandoned academia in his twenties to pursue music full time. The session scene in Glasgow and Edinburgh provided the springboard for gigs around Scotland and a studio set for BBC Radio, frequently rebroadcast, began to spread the word.
  • August 26 - The Kruger Brothers, $30.00 advance, $35.00 at door
  • Folks beg for standing room at this show. You wouldn’t call their music bluegrass even though Jens is a virtuoso of the five string banjo. Many of their pieces are composed by Jens or Uwe, and many of them have a decidedly classical bent. Jens has composed piece for string quartet and the Kruger Brothers.
