The Old Rock School in downtown Valdese is a renovated 1920s school building constructed of local rock in the distinctive Waldensian style. The refurbished school serves as a community cultural center for the area and features a 473-seat auditorium, an art gallery, the Piedmont and Western Railway Museum, a town meeting space, and offices. In October, November, December, January and MArch, there's a bluegrass concert that features both locally and nationally known musicians. The upcoming schedule includes:
