An Evening of Traditional Dance

With fine dance leadership representing regional and nationally known teachers, we celebrate the American traditions of circle dances, contra dances, square dances, waltzes and more – and all with Live Music! While many know of the dance as socially acceptable and wholesome fun, especially with good, live music, the changes over the last decade or more have been substantial. The celebration of community is still at the core of the heart of dance. That energy caused some few of us who love and honor the varied traditions of the American cultures to find and make time to plan expressions of joy in dance. We celebrate Madison County, NC. Our dance is in and for and by those who live in or near one of the most revered counties of the Southern Blue Ridge region of Appalachia for traditional arts – especially music, dance, story and song.
