An Appalachian Evening Summer Concert Series

Our annual summer concert series offers an ever-changing schedule of bluegrass, folk and old-time mountain music by award-winning artists — quality entertainment for the entire family. Rich in cultural heritage, An Appalachian Evening continues to be a favorite with locals and visitors alike. All concerts at 7:30 pm in the air-conditioned Lynn L. Shields Auditorium. A traditional Appalachian dinner is served in the Schoolhouse Cafe before each concert. The Center also hosts an annual Harvest Festival – an authentic celebration of Southern Appalachian mountain culture. The festival is the third week in October and features mountain music, clogging, a Civil War encampment, arts and crafts vendors and great food. Other center activities include traditional Appalachian craft classes, and a fine arts gallery representing over 150 local and regional artisans. The school is also to a local chapter of the Junior Appalachian Musicians (J.A.M.) program.

  • July 29 - Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, $25.00/adult, $10.00/K-12 +tax
  • August 5 - The Bankesters, $15.00/adult, $10.00/K-12 +tax
  • August 12 - The Freight Hoppers, $15.00/adult, $10.00/K-12 +tax
  • August 19 - The Jeff Little Trio, $25.00/adult, $10.00/K-12 +tax
  • August 26 - The Kruger Brothers, $30.00/adult, $10.00/K-12 +tax
